Hi. I've been using this site for a few years now, but never posted.

My issue is that when watching movies and shows sometimes the website plays fine, but sometimes I get little one or two second freezes periodically. Usually a few minutes apart.

The freezes hit and then the playback skips ahead a second or two then starts playing again.
If I skip backward and continue playback the freeze happens at exactly the same place.

I am using a pc with updated browsers.
I have the paid membership, hoping it was a throttle issue for free users.
I have adblock installed, but it works fine on other devices/pcs with adblock also installed.
I've set my location etc.
I've tried using vpns.
I've tried multiple browsers. (firefox, chrome, brave)

I'm hoping someone has some possible fixes I can try. Like clearing cache or resetting my modem (obviously I've tried those, but I can't list suggestions I don't know about)

Any help is really appreciated.

shadepool7 Buffering is something that many users, including myself, have experienced on and off for years. Short of boosting your signal, it sounds like you've already done everything that gets suggested when users mention the issue, so I unfortunately don't know of any additional fixes that have worked for myself or others. Changing my server location tends to help sometimes, but never consistently, and sometimes rebooting everything helps, but again, not all the time.

I think its sort of like the elephant in the room -- we all know its there and that its a problem, but none of us has found a solution, so we just work around it as best we can. Not a very satisfactory answer, I know, but I hope one day it becomes an issue of the past.

I've been seeing this from time to time but more & more often lately. The only thing that works for me is - at the moment of freezing (if it doesn't self correct in the next couple of seconds but stays frozen) I use my keyboard to go forward 10 seconds by pressing "right" button and then, pretty much right away or maybe half a second later, I go back 10 seconds by pressing "left" button. So it's kind of a jump over a wall, for lack of a better explanation. Its very annoying but thats the quickest way I found to keep watching without trying to reboot/reload/restart or something else cause those things dont really help anyway. You can try switching to higher or lower quality of the video you are watching, sometimes it helps, but thats a one time solution that may or may not help.
      Good luck, hope this helps.

liakelly I wouldn't call it buffering personally. Buffering is usually when your internet connection is slower than the required speed to stream, so the video freezes and allows the stream to catch up.

The freezes I experience seem almost built into the video. If I take note of where they happen I can reload the video, and go right back to the same spot and experience the same freeze. Or I can skip back a few spots, resume playing and hit the same freeze like a speed bump in the road.

The interesting thing (and what makes me believe there has to be a fix) is that I can watch the same video on my pc and laptop, and my pc will freeze at that spot, but the laptop won't. But the freezes don't happen with every video/show.

ForzY So mine don't freeze permanently. It is a short 1-2 second freeze that skips the video ahead. I will try your suggestion of skipping forward and then back to see if that helps, but what I have done is skipping back and running into the same freeze at the exact same time in the playback. So I'm not sure if the issue I'm experiencing is the same.

So what I've noticed is if you look at the status bar "the line that shows where the movie is and the buffer line" there will be an actual break in the line where it is going to happen. Have not found a fix but hope this info will help the great minds behind this great site. Yes, I upgraded to the donation package hoping this would help.
